William is an active investor and startup advisor. Since 2011 he has primarily focused on making investments in companies that are creating a more diverse and inclusive tech economy. He currently serves as the lead investor for the Comcast Ventures Catalyst Fund, a fund dedicated to investing in entrepreneurs of color. William has led early investments for Comcast Ventures in Cuyana, AptDeco, Maker’s Row, Partpic, Reactor (acquired by The Tribune Co.), and several others. William has also served as a partner at Dreamit, a pre-seed venture firm and global startup accelerator where he coached over 100 upstart companies.
Before becoming an investor, William founded a strategy consulting firm, led strategy at AOL (Media Networks), and consulted to numerous corporations including Thomson Reuters, Radio One, and IBM. He is also a former software developer. William holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from North Carolina State University as well as an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He lives in the Philadelphia area and is an aspiring amateur photographer.
